'Security Council'

The Security Council has a primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and safety. This council is a little different from other commitees. The number of members is 15, and each member has one vote. According to the UN Charter, all member states are obligated to comply with the decisions of the board of directors. The Security Council takes the lead in determining the existence of threats to peace or aggression. It requires the parties to resolve it in a peaceful manner and proposes mediation methods or terms of resolution.
